The new GEMCO® Electric 953 Series VMAX Linear Displacement Transducer (LDT) from AMETEK Automation & Process Technologies was developed to meet the most demanding processing challenges, regardless of application or operating environment.The highly versatile VMAX LDT offers absolute accuracy and reliability with high resolution and precision repeatability. The VMAX LDT is resistant to contaminants and environmental conditions and is IP68 rated. Its rugged and durable mill-duty construction exceeds competitive offerings. Its vibration resistance is lab tested at 30 Gs and shock resistance is lab tested at 1000 Gs. The unit’s sleek housing offers unlimited installation flexibility. The LDT is easy to install and set up. It features the latest generation of magnetostrictive position-sensing technology with automatic gain circuitry and factory calibrated zero point. Gemco 950IS Intrinsically Safe LDT

Intrinsically Safe LDT - The 950IS is an intrinsically safe analog system.  The system uses a remote transmitter mounted in a safe area wired through intrinsically safe barriers to the LDT, which may be mounted in a hazardous area.  The term 'Intrinsically Safe' pertains to a device's inability to produce an electrical spark of enough significance to cause ignition. This system incorporates circuitry that is U.L. listed for use in Class I, Groups C and D, Class II, Groups E, F and G, and Class III hazardous locations.

Gemco 950MD Mill Duty Housing LDT

Mill Duty Housing -The Gemco Electric 950MD Mill-Duty Housing is a stainless steel housing designed to protect LDTs in harsh or high temperature environments such as those found in heavy industrial plants and processes. In addition, it is also used where Nema 4 protection is required or where mounting limitations exist.

The 950MD housing is designed to protect the LDT from physical and environmental damages such as temperature, corrosives, shock and vibration, or dust & debris.

Gemco 951 Quik-Stik II LDT

Quik-Stik II LDT -The Series 951 Quik-Stik II is a high accuracy, high-speed “rod style” non-contact linear transducer, available in stroke lengths up to 300". Gemco 940 LDT

The Gemco Electric Series 940 Linear Position Sensor is a “rod style” transducer designed to provide accurate and absolute machine positioning.  The LPS is offered in pre-engineered lengths with a variety of analog outputs.  The LPS is ideal for applications where continuous machine position is needed and is commonly used as a replacement for limit and proximity switches or used in hydraulic cylinders.

Gemco 925 Linear Cable Reel Sensor

The Gemco Electric series 925 Linear Cable Reel Sensor can be used in any linear application up to 1200 inches. The system consists of a heavy-duty spring motor assembly attached to a precision machined cable drum. As the cable is pulled off of the precision drum, the drum rotates a shaft connected to it. The shaft is precisely geared such that the full number of revolutions of the drum is equal to the appropriate number of revolutions required by the chosen sensor. The Series 925 Linear Cable Reel Sensor can be used with our Series 1746 Resolver Input Card and a Series 2120 PLC Transducer Module.The 925 Cable Reel also provides accurate position feedback for linear motion up to 100 feet. Mounting for either resolver, encoder, cam switch or rotary potentiometer.

The BRIK is a self-contained unit and does not have a can or head assembly. All of the electronics are incorporated in the transducer which is less than one inch tall. It is available in analog, digital, and quadrature outputs. The 955S Smart BRIK is designed for applications where economical continuous feedback is necessary. The sensor can be a cost effective replacement to limit and proximity sensors and linear potentiometers. Applications include presses, blow molding, injection molding, extruding, roll positioning and many more.

Gemco 956 BLOK Housing Option

The Gemco Electric 956 BLOK is an optional housing for the 955 Brik LDT. This housing adds a chamber, magnet and piston. The streamlined anodized aluminum extrusion houses the sensing element and electronics. The piston assembly moves over the sensing element that determines the position and converts it to a readable output. The BLOK is a self-contained unit and does not have a can or a head assembly.   

Overview
Units can be ordered in span lengths up to 36 inches long in 0.1 inch increments. This transducer can be mounted vertically or horizontally in an application. Optional spherical rod ends are available.
